Administrative Collaboration

The CCIC administrative collaboration initiative consolidates the purchasing power of the fifteen independent, not-for-profit colleges and universities in Connecticut to provide members the option of purchasing select products or services at a discount. To defray administrative costs, in some cases, CCIC may receive a modest amount under agreements made with the companies below.

CCIC & People's United Insurance Agency Workers' Compensation Program

People’s United Insurance Agency is a full service insurance agency that has been serving businesses and business owners for over 100 years.  Ranked nationally as the 12th largest bank-owned insurance brokerage according to Michael White’s Bank Insurance Fee Income Report, People’s United Insurance Agency (PUIA) is one of the top-performing and largest regional brokers in the Northeast; specializing in Education, Public Entities, Construction, Technology, Real Estate, Non Profits, Financial Institutions and Healthcare. We are licensed in all 50 states and serve clients with operations in various parts of the world.  We provide risk management services and support our account executives with risk control, claim and premium audit resources.

This program started through the collaborative efforts of the Connecticut Conference of Independent Colleges (CCIC), People's United Insurance Agency, and representatives from member institutions. The program commenced on July 1, 1994 and is renewed on an annual basis. Overall feedback from plan participants has been consistently favorable. Participating colleges and universities meet periodically to discuss various risk management and underwriting issues that are of a unique and common nature to colleges and universities.

Adobe Group Purchasing

Leveraging our members combined purchasing power to establish the agreement, the CCIC Adobe VIP enables participating institutions to “link” VIPs in order to achieve deeper discounts for Adobe’s Creative Cloud software, while still purchasing and managing licenses separately under their own/existing VIP Agreement.  Delivering industry-leading applications and services, Adobe Creative Cloud helps students learn, create, collaborate, and communicate more effectively — and develop the critical-thinking and creative problem-solving skills that employers value.

This program leverages the Value Incentive Plan (VIP) option which allows schools to license only exactly what is needed. This differs from the Enterprise Term License Agreement (ETLA) option, which acts as a site license for Adobe products by licensing your FTE.

We see great promise and possibilities in information technology collaboration among our campuses and we at CCIC want to do all we can to facilitate the growth of that collaboration.

Coalition for College Cost Savings

The Coalition for College Cost Savings (The Coalition) was conceived as a catalyst for the first comprehensive and collaborative purchasing effort focused exclusively on independent, private higher education. The Coalition’s goals are to leverage the collective buying power of private colleges to reduce operating costs, improve the efficiency of internal procedures and ultimately lower the cost of delivering education. CCIC Member Institutions may access the programs and savings available to Coalition Members.
