About the Report
On a biennial basis, CCIC issues a report on the economic impact of the state's fifteen non-profit independent colleges and universities. The study looks at the payrolls of CCIC member institutions, their spending for goods and services, the spending done by students, visitors, faculty and staff along with the indirect and induced job creation and spending that occurs because of the presence of these institutions in their communities.
The 16.5 billion dollar impact is significant, and the report outlines how key these institutions are as educators, employers and community partners in Connecticut.
