CCIC has joined with Project Kaleidoscope (PKAL) in a Science, Technology, Engineering & Math Faculty Development project. This will be an eighteen-month effort to determine what works in collaborating with formal and informal networks to strengthen student learning in STEM fields.
Activities include a series of workshops and events designed to help build and expand the community of institutions, administrators and faculty engaged in promoting excellence in undergraduate education in STEM. PKAL is also in the process of developing supportive materials including a STEM Faculty Development Handbook, and an interactive web presence. The research component of the effort will track changes taking place on campuses to determine effective strategies and methods.
Other supporters for the Connecticut portion of this national effort include the Connecticut State University System, the Connecticut Office for Workforce Development and the Connecticut Center for Advanced Technology.
