Albertus Magnus College--Bianchi Room on the second floor of the Hubert Campus Center
Description:
Background
In the summer of 2007, the Association of Governing Boards of Universities and Colleges (AGB) and the National Association of College and University Business Officers (NACUBO) held a summit on enterprise risk management (ERM) in Washington DC with senior officers and trustees from several leading colleges and universities. Approximately 40 leaders—representing large and small as well as public and private institutions—attended the event. One of the major conclusions of the summit was that implementing ERM within higher education is vital for survival and growth of academic institutions (even more so in the economic climate of 2010).Another significant conclusion was that schools had significant room for improvement in risk management.
Presentation Objectives
The overall goals of this presentation are to provide an overview of ERM and demonstrate why it is important to colleges and universities.
Presenters will cover critical success factors in devising and executing an ERM program.
Suggestions for launching a new ERM initiative and improving an existing program will be discussed.
